Quaint old fashioned book about young men on the coast By Hill Country Bob A rather quaint old fashioned book written in the year before World War I broke out. It is set on the coast, probably New England. It is the story of one young man and his friends and their adventures over the course of a few days, going sailing. Then the twists occur, a stolen sail boat, breaking into what is thought to be the empty house of a relative of one, going to jail, a jail break, misunderstandings about a boat, etc. The real climax deals with a set of sharpies or con men who have set up an elaborate con of a company to sell shares for gold recovery from sea water. The bad guys get caught, and it turns out okay in the end. An enjoyable light read that shows its age. It seems that it would be suitable for young people if interested in the topic.

Had to read it. I can see very much how it would have appealed to a boy of his age and time. Glad I could find it.
