A heartfelt memoir By Willie Marlowe I had been waiting for WE’RE WAITING FOR YOU, and as with TWICE COLOMBIA, I read it straight through when it arrived from Amazon. For all of Patricia Woodard’s readers who wanted to know more of the story of her time in Colombia, this book gives insights into her magnetic attraction to the country and to its people. Her vivid descriptions of the changes that had taken place in the years that separated her initial time in Bogota to subsequent visits to Cali give sociological, political and historical context. This book will have special resonance for young women who want to travel and experience a different culture, for adoptive parents, and for anyone who has ever coped with the complexities of life’s capricious turns and emerged on the other side. It is a story a journey of exploration, adventure, of gaining understanding, of facing challenges, and it is courageously told. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. We're Waiting for You By Dr. James E. Covington After reading the author's first book ("Twice Colombia"), I hoped that there would be a sequel. Then came "We're Waiting for You," and this is it! Ms. Woodard is an extremely gifted writer, whose text flows beautifully, and who offers a very vivid and fascinating portrayal of her story -- her own story -- which she relates with all candor. This is true with both her works, and both should be read, for her message to be fully appreciated. I hope that more will be forthcoming. I would especially recommend these books for parents (and expecting parents -- biological as well as adoptive) who are interested in understanding the trials, tribulations, rewards and heartbreaks of bringing out the very best aspects of our generations who will follow. The author certainly lays them out for us, and we should all be grateful. I surely am. JEC

I felt like I was on the journey with you. It was both sad and heart warming. I also found myself wanting the wonderful food described in the story. Now I am 'waiting for you" to publish the cook book so i can try those recipes. Pat Calhoun
