About the Author Valerie Dowdy began professionally working as a local mural artist, then later went to school to learn more about painting. While in school her love for oils and abstract expression caught fire. Valerie has created art for all consumer levels. She calls this bread and butter artwork as it pays for more materials for her passion. Valerie also has an art blog which can be viewed at www.valeriedowdy.com. She has published two other coloring books which are available on her website, on Amazon, as well as at Barnes and Noble. Daniel Stanley who helped develop this book is a Wise County native with a passion for marketing. He states his main goal in collaborating on this coloring book was to draw attention to the many attractions Wise County has to offer visitors and residents. Daniel serves on several local event committees and uses social media as an economic development tool. His wife is a local author and has written several books about Southwest Virginia and its beauty.

A Must-Have Memento By Superamy I'm so excited that Valerie Dowdy and Daniel Stanley have created this coloring and activity book for Wise County, Virginia. It's got something for people of all ages--puzzles, pages to color, and activities to keep anyone entertained! It focuses on the cultural heritage and environment in the area, including beautiful mountain scenery, historic locations, local attractions, and even the mysterious Woodbooger. If you want to learn more about the area or if you want to have a memento from this gorgeous county, I'd highly recommend picking up this book and ordering some extras for your friends! And don't think of it as being just for kids! The coloring book pages are highly detailed, and they're attractive to adults and children alike!

With the new Big Stone Gap movie coming out, I think there will be more interest in the area from visitors. This coloring and activity book is a great way to share more about our culture and history with everyone. The coloring pages are beautifully detailed, and the activity and puzzle pages are fun, with great trivia about the area. This will make a great gift for anyone who's been to the area or who is interested in learning more about the great county of Wise in Virginia!
