Endearing, light comedy By Amazon Customer Apart from the fact that the story takes place on Christmas day, there is absolutely no reason to call this "a Christmas story". However, it is an endearing little piece with a predictable ending, and makes a good light read after you have waded through Tolstoy or similar. It would also be a good option for short plane rides, where you are constantly interrupted by offers of drinks or peanuts.I enjoyed the repartee between the homeowner and the nimble-fingered burglar he cleverly catches, the moral dilemma of rescuing a young girl who may or may not exist versus ensuring the continued captivity of the burglar, and the sly way the burglar turns everything to his advantage. The ending, whilst somewhat predictable, left far too many unanswered questions. It felt like one of those movies that ends in such a way you KNOW there's going to be a sequel. Cute, but unsatisfying. Please do not let this put you off, though. It is truly an easy, light-hearted piece of entertainment and I enjoyed it. Well done, Ms Miller. I shall look for another (or the sequel!) ;o)
