Interesting Reading By Ana Madiedo I had read a couple of books by Elinor Glynn (in Spanish translations) when I was a very young woman (circa early 1950's) and loved them. This particular novel is romantic and sweet and also very well written; considering she wrote it 100 years ago I thought it was pretty much modern for the times.

Kennedy "Halcyone" by Elinor Glyn is a novel about a young girl who grows up in a sheltered environment to be wiser and purer than the society around her. The outcome of the novel is never really in doubt, but Ms. Glyn writes a beautiful tale along the way. Sadly, Ms. Glyn's novels are difficult to find these days.
