1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Old but a goodie By Amazon Customer I started this book with a little skepticism but just kept reading and loved it by the end. This author was a really good story teller and writer. The story moves along nicely with a young boy as the hero. It has some battle scenes and a mystery that keeps you reading because you want to solve the mystery. There are some papers hidden in a cabin that tell some shocking thing and even the British want the papers, There is much adventure. Recommended if you like historical books.

By Jerriemy Chilson A short but interesting and fast paced novel that follows a young boy from Philadelphia to Valley forge, where he grows into a heroic rebel soldier fighting for a cause he truly believes in. Then on to the blood soaked fields of Monmouth where he witnessed the death of many dear to him and finishing in the valley of Wyoming in Pennsylvania. A historically accurate account of the times though the story feels fictional from the start.
