Rumson has been the home of entertainers, sports stars, financiers, entrepreneurs, scientists, brewers, legislators, philanthropists, and jurists. It is a community that brings together people of varied interests, ages, and walks of life yet still remains a warm and comfortable small town.

About the Author Local historian and author Roberta H. Van Anda has lived in Rumson since her early childhood. She has taught at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and Rumson Country Day School and has served on local boards of education as well as the New Jersey State Board of Education. She has been the editor of the Rumson Borough Bulletin, a board member of the Rumson Community Appeal, a public relations professional for Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and currently serves as the secretary of the Rumson Historic Preservation Commission.

I have never been to Rumson, but while reading this beautifully arranged book, I found myself entrenched in the interesting lives of the residents who have resided there from its early years to the present. It was amazing to learn how many well known people from government, business, celebrity status and sports could be found in one very special town. The pictures alone made it worth purchasing, almost like visiting a museum! What an amazing job the author did putting this book together! Anyone who ever lived in Rumson should have a copy. For everyone else, its a uniquely enjoyable documentary of a very special town!

Looks like it was written at the Country Club By EdR Looks like it was written at the Country Club, lots of newcomersLeft out lots of history and long time Rumson families, the Pomphreys, Zerrs, Shay's, Sheas along with many others.Also left out the many thing the Fire Departments and Police Departments members have done. Including rescue in storms, time spent assisting during anf after 911 ect.
