By anamcginley Being parent to four TCKs, I have witnessed the confusion and doubt due to the loss of identity that accompanies a global nomad lifestyle. It took almost a year to convince my three eldest children that even though we had spent four years living in Asia, they were not actually Chinese! Similarly, speaking Dutch and living in the Netherlands did not make them Dutch. Tayo Rockson's new guide goes a long way in explaining what it means to be a TCK - including the positive and negative aspects of growing up around the world. He also provides easy tips on how to stay attached to your 'homeland' culture. The guide is written in a clear, concise style - making it accessible to readers of all age. Tayo's skill is in taking the TCK experience and identifying how to use it to your advantage. I will recommend this guide to my children so that they can take comfort from reading about experiences they share with other TCKs, and then use these experiences to benefit their future lives.

Fantastic and concise TCK resource By Michael Oghia As a third culture kid (TCK) myself, I can honestly say the amount of resources out there that concisely describe what it means to be a TCK are still limited. However, Tayo presents a highly readable well-written overview that succinctly captures the essence of the TCK experience. I highly recommend this guide to anyone who has had trouble explaining what being a TCK means or to those who are looking for more information on TCKs. Tayo is also working so hard to bring the TCK experience to light in general and help build the larger TCK community, which I definitely appreciate. Undoubtedly, it shines in this resource as well. Keep up the good work!

However, I love how this book is not just about how to cope with your TCK-ness but how to actually harness it and use it to your advantage. Tayo breaks everything down into simple and clear sections that give examples of practical ways to embrace your third culture background in your career and personal life. I also love the new kindle format, its straightforward and makes for a really easy and enjoyable read. :)
